Blocking Sensitive Content

At Picmonic, we're dedicated to helping students retain complex subjects more effectively and remember important information when it matters most. Studies in memory science have shown that evoking an emotional response improves long-term retention of knowledge. That's why we design our Picmonic content to be highly memorable, while also being mindful of not crossing any offensive boundaries. However, some of the content presented in our Picmonics may contain cartoon depictions of strong language and sensitive themes.

If you wish to hide such content, toggle on the “Safety Mode” setting. You can find this by clicking the profile circle in the top right corner of your account, clicking "My Account", and then clicking on the "Settings" tab:

If your Safety Mode is off, Sensitive labels will display on Picmonics that may contain Sensitive themes.

If your Safety Mode is on, all visual, textual, and audio content will be hidden for Picmonics containing sensitive themes. Clicking "Acknowledge and View Picmonic" will allow you to bypass this to view a specific Picmonic.

Prior to April 15, 2025, clicking "Acknowledge and View Picmonic" would turn safety mode off in your settings. As of April 15, 2025, safety mode will remain on even after clicking this button. If you unintentionally turned safety mode off via this button, you can re-enable it in your settings.

Please keep in mind, the Safety Mode setting hides Picmonics that may contain sensitive content. No filter is 100% accurate and content is subjective, however this setting should help you avoid most of this content.

Picmonic content aims to be edgy enough to be memorable while not being offensive. If you come across a Picmonic that you find problematic, please don't hesitate to let us know. https://help.picmonic.com/en/articles/8159895-how-to-report-problematic-content
