Player Control Bar & Player Settings Menu

The Player Control Bar provides tools for navigating and customizing your viewing experience while watching a Picmonic.


Key Features

  • Educational / Story Mode Toggle:
    Switch between Educational mode and Story mode.

  • Progress Bar:
    Located at the top of the control bar, showing your playback position.

  • Time Display:
    Shows your progress as elapsed time / total video length (for example, 1:23 / 4:56).

  • Fact Markers:
    Small rectangular markers indicate where each fact appears in the video, helping you follow along or revisit specific sections.

  • Settings Icon:
    Opens the Player Settings menu, where you can adjust how the player behaves during playback.

    Selecting the Settings (gear) icon opens a menu with options to personalize your playback experience:

    • Play Video Automatically: Starts the video as soon as a Picmonic is opened.

    • Audio Mode: Choose between Educational Only or Story Mode.

    • Hide Sidebar When Video Is Playing: Hides the sidebar for a larger viewing area.

    • Hide Fact Descriptions When Video Is Playing: Keeps fact descriptions collapsed during playback.

    • Character Animations: Turns character and scene movement on or off.

    • Player Opacity: Adjusts the transparency of the player background.

    • Launch Quiz Automatically After Video: Starts the quiz immediately after the video finishes.

    • Closed Captions: Displays text captions for all spoken audio.
